BACK!

Bay's back :)

been having comp and it's killing my knees... haven't been playing well lately. i really need to snap out of it and get my tennis on the right track. it's very frustrating. thank God for people like woan, darrell tan and C!

I think i'm like a mute when i train, stuck in my rut of silence. And i've got gloom plastered all over my face... that really sucks! Tomorrow's gonna be different. We've got matches on Mon, Weds and Fri next week! Hope i get to play. I guess sometimes we've just got to move on. I thought I did, but maybe my foot's been caught in the mud all along. It's the kind of feeling where you think you've made some progress, only to take a closer look at the earth you're running on and realize that it's the same spot. I don't know how many of you feel this way. or why you would. But I just hope that if anyone reads this post, you won't go into freefall and stop trying.

I don't know how i'm going to mug for history test next week! Training everyday. Alright, take care everyone & God Bless! =)

This was the highlight of the trip, when 4 Mainstreamers and a GEPer plus the Sisterhood did a combined gig in the sands of the Philippines. Look at the gig shot! it's quite brilliant don't u think hahaha. Actually the photo could have been worth a million, but Yongjie and Chai Yi's decadent posing reduced its worth by half :( Ping Kan looks like he needs to pee hahahaha. eeks the guy in all-white is my favourite! The Sisterhood looks snazzy but they will never really beat 4 Mainstreamers and a GEPer because our songs are so amazing

last one for tonight- a tribute to guan yongjie. he was a source of madcap fun on the trip and we loved his polished vocals. and his spastic-kid image hahahahahaha

sometimes two people are the most similar when they are different because it lets them celebrate the oneness of their hearts. i think if the other half is too similar, dimensions of thought and interest will never shift. but the sea keeps changing its tides; it does not always reflect light in the same way and its waves do not quite produce the same sounds. yet it will always be the same sea. the possibilities are as endless as it is. without these differences the similarities won't be so beautiful. bayseacally, it's great to be different. =D

President of verbal vice

That's solid. There, you see how much I learned.
-- Vice President Dan Quayle when when visiting a welding class at a vocational school in Union, Missouri. He welded two scraps of metal together to demonstrate how much he had learned while in the National Guard. (reported in the NY Times, 10/25/88)

Dan Quayle had a trip planned to Beijing, but was worried because of the turmoil at that end. His security advisor however informed him that it was pretty safe for D.Q. as, "They are only harassing intellectuals".

Americans will soon observe the 20th anniversary of] Neil Armstrong and Buzz Lukens' walk on the moon.
-- Vice President Dan Quayle confusing the sexual assaulter/Congressman with Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 7/15/89 Los Angeles Times (7/16/89)

...Buzz Lukens took that fateful step...
-- Vice President Dan Quayle continuing to confuse the sexual assaulter/Congressman with Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 7/15/89 (reported in Esquire, 8/92)

The future will be a better tomorrow.
-- Vice President Dan Quayle

you touch
the edge of a creased
collar
between lines on your palm
and hold the
hand that knows
your face
the curves of your ear
the lightness

from that
hand
eyes wet with
loss

eyes that see a creased collar meandered
by a drop
of quiet

Words from the husband of one of the captives,

" I feel guilty even when i eat or sleep."

and then the muffled, static, grief of a man yearning only to see his wife.

A Heroes Tribute

Special Ability: Faith

I know some of the previous posts have been fun and comedic, but this one is as serious as it gets.

I just want to honour the two Koreans who are deceased, and the 21 that remain in captivity. Every passing minute is filled with trepidation, and each day seems to loom towards certain death... i don't think this is something we should just gloss over.

If you are reading this, please take a minute or two to say a little prayer for these aid workers. Or just keep them in your hearts.

That's the least we can do.
